PIGINO

Founded in 1896 by the Pigino family as a small artisan production, RISERIA PIGINO took the form of a medium-sized family business from the 1970s, with the advent of the second generation of the Piginos.

In 1989, the company was acquired by the Euricom Group which radically transformed it. Thanks to important investments, Pigino became the pilot company of the Group, where to test technological innovations and where to experiment.

Using cutting-edge technologies in processing, packaging and choosing rice, Pigino managed to attract the attention of the main European retail chains. Thanks to a strong operational flexibility - based on personal relationships of collaboration, rather than on the hierarchy - it succeeded in forging commercial relationships and activating contacts that the Group had not yet developed and consolidated.

In 1994, after the acquisition by Euricom of Curtiriso, the Group's strategy was to transfer all production and packaging destined for European retail trade to Valle Lomellina.

From that moment on, Pigino was given the opportunity to develop new sectors, such as the entry into the organic rice market, baby food, the processing of aromatic rice from Asia, rice for sushi preparations and particularly rice sought after by the ethnic communities present in Italy.

Those activities are still the core business of the company.
